Cathcart Collectables
Located just 10 minutes east of Bombala in Eden Street, Cathcart Collectables houses an amazing collection of Monaro history and memorabilia from the past through to the present. There are displays ranging from tractors and farm machinery to coins to bottle openers. The collection was established by Eileen and Bab Walder in 1998. The family has a great interest in trying to save local history from leaving the district and displaying the items of interest.
The Museum is built on the site of the Federal Hotel. The family has also preserved the old post office and exchange which were located in what is now the front room of their home next door to the Museum. The business was closed in 1991 and it is also open to the public.
Come along and enjoy the history at Cathcart Collectables. Admission is by donation.
