Past Times Country Crafts

Past Times Country CraftsPast Times Country Craft Centre is situated five point eight kilometres from Cooma on the way to Jindabyne at Travellers Rest. Travellers Rest was originally opened in 1861 during the Kiandra Gold Rush when 10,000 prospectors sought their fortune in the desolate landscape of Australia.

Visit Past Times for something new, unexpected and different. The Craft Centre has a fascinating collection of crafts and products from the Monaro Region. Find special knitting wools, natural and dyed, silk, mohair, alpaca and other fibres, felt, wool products, jumpers, beanies, socks and fashion accessories and a full range of Ashford spinning and weaving equipment.

There are both ready made and make-it-yourself kits, including needle felting, scarves and rugs. There is a special collection of cards for your amusement and all occasions and gifts that your friends will treasure. Home grown lavender is available from our their gardens and there is a marvellous Kitsch'n'Garden open from spring to autumn. You can tour the Inn, stroll through the gardens and chapel and be rejuvenated before you set off for your next destination.

Past Times brings together the past times of the gold rush days and the pastimes of persons through the ages who have enriched their lives through their hands on approach to life.
