Yarrangobilly Caves in Kosciuszko National Park is is a spectacular limestone cave located 6.5km off the Snowy Mountains Highway, 77km from Tumut and 109km from Cooma.

Step into the depths of Yarrangobilly Caves and you’ll discover stalagmites, stalactites and delicate decorations like shawls and cave corals. 

Guided and self-guided cave tours are available as well as access to a natural thermal bathing pool, barbecue facilities, picnic areas and a number of short walks.

Guided Tour Times: 

  • Summer - 10.30am, 11:45am, 1:45pm and 3:00pm, during Summer 
  • Winter - 11:00am, 1:00pm and 3:00pm (between June and October long weekends) 

Self-Guided Tour Times:

  • 9:00am and 4:00pm.

Tickets are required for all caves. Tickets and directions are available from the Visitors Centre. All vehicles without a valid Kosciuszko National Park pass must pay a site fee of $3.

Jillabenan Cave, South Glory Cave or Jersey Cave 

Guided tours run at regular intervals from visitor centre, fees may apply.

Caves House Heritage Accommodation 

Experience the tranquility of the picturesque Yarrangobilly Valley in your own self-contained wing or individual room of historic Caves House.

Caves House was built in two sections, the single-storey section was built in 1901 when Yarrangobilly was the most popular resort in Southern NSW, and the two-storey section was completed in 1917. Each wing of the 1901 section of Caves House has a fully equipped kitchen, dining room, verandah and outdoor BBQ area. The 1917 section reopened in April 2014 contains 11 rooms in total, many with en-suites and linen is provided. In the 1917 section there is a shared lounge room, dining room, fully equipped kitchen and kitchenette.

Lyrebird Cottage

Located in the Yarrangobilly Valley, Lyrebird Cottage is a luxury 2 Bedroom (sleeps 4) eco-cottage, offering a possible romantic getaway, with thermal pool and barbecue, as well as nearby picnic spots and easy walks

Guests are advised to bring all food requirements as there are very limited food items available from the Visitors Centre.
