Hop on Harro’s Thredbo Valley Track Shuttle – your ultimate ride to nature, minus the hassle of walking uphill! Start at Lake Crackenback Resort and Spa (your comfy launch pad). Running from November to April, daily during school holidays – because nothing says “holiday” like avoiding the stress of driving on twisty mountain roads. Mountain Bike Trails Tumbarumba

The Snowy Valleys region has hundreds of kilometres of trails winding through native and plantation forests and open country. In this region, you can experience stunning views on trails suitable for the whole family, or for the more adventurous, find that challenging downhill run or technical climb that would test the skill of the most experienced rider. Thanks to the efforts of committed locals and supporting organisations, the Snowy Valleys boasts a high-quality and growing mountain bike network, with most trail networks centred around Tumbarumba, Tumut and Kosciusko National Park.

Tumut Mountain Bike Park - Tumut State Forest

The Tumut Mountain Bike Park is located in Tumut State Forest. With four trails to discover ranging from intermediate to advanced riding skills, and stunning views, it's a must-visit for mountain bikers. Located close to town, these trails offer a wide variety of terrain for all levels. The trails start from the dirt road intersection close to the parking area off Fairway Drive / Herbert Street. Tumut MTB Park hosts the Tumut MTB Three Hour Enduro each Autumn. The Tumut MTB Three Hour challenges riders to complete as many laps as they can in the three-hour time limit. Do it alone, or enter as a pair with a friend for the opportunity to tag out when you're tired! There's also a one hour event for those who like their challenges a little less extreme. Kosciuszko National Park

From Jindabyne to Tumut, NSW's largest national park will keep you busy for a weekend or for weeks. Ski or snowboard the highest runs in the country at Thredbo and Perisher and try cross-country skiing in winter. Go camping, descend underground to magical Yarrangobilly Caves or climb to the summit of Mount Kosciuszko on the Main Range walk in summer. Why not take on the challenge of Snowy's Alpine Walk? This 56-kilometre hike connects alpine villages at Guthega, Charlotte Pass, Perisher Valley and Bullocks Hut. Spend 4 days walking in the Snowy Mountains and see glacial lakes, wildflower meadows, historic huts and spectacular views. Adventure seekers can also get their thrills on the Thredbo Valley track. Beyond high mountain peaks, you'll find more to explore. There's great fishing and paddling in the lower Snowy and upper Murray rivers. Throw a line in a mountain stream or reservoir like Blowering, Eucumbene and Tantangara or stop in for a swim in the spring waters of Yarrangobilly Caves Thermal Pool. You could also saddle up for a horse ride in the High Plains or near Khancoban.

Thredbo Valley Track

Kosciuszko National Park is a mountain bike rider’s paradise, and Thredbo Valley Track is one of its most popular adventures on two wheels. From family-friendly rides and guided tours to short technical sections, or the full 35-kilometre adventure for experienced riders, Thredbo Valley Track has cycling experiences to suit everyone. Starting from Thredbo village, the track follows the sparkling Thredbo River 16.7 kilometres downstream to Bullocks Flat. Beyond Bullocks Flat, the Thredbo Valley Track extends 18.4 kilometres through remote terrain to Gaden Trout Hatchery. This challenging section is recommended for self-sufficient, experienced riders. Prefer to tackle just a section of the track? With easy access points at Thredbo, Ngarigo or Thredbo Diggings campgrounds, and Bullocks Flat, you can choose rides from one hour to one day. The gravel section between Thredbo Diggings and Bullocks Flat is great for beginners. It’s also the only section generally open year-round for bike riders. Experienced mountain bike riders can get their thrills on the technical switchbacks, contours and climbs between Ngarigo and Thredbo Diggings campgrounds.

Boss Outdoor Sports is conveniently located in the new BP Service Centre, Jindabyne – The Gateway to the remarkable Australian Snowy Mountains, and famous resorts of Thredbo, Perisher and Charlotte Pass. Owned and operated by the same family for 30 years, their trademark professional, friendly assistance and dedicated customer service will put you at ease, from the moment you enter their new rental realm. BP Service Centre also offers customers a place to relax and freshen up after a long drive to collect ski, snowboard or chain rental, with a cafe, clean toilets, a service station and ample off-street parking. After the snow season is completed in October, Boss Outdoor Sports opens in November for Mountain Bike, kayak, Fishing and Camping hire.

Tumba Bikes and Blooms

Tumba Bikes and Blooms offer a variety of bikes for hire, along with selling nursery plants, flowers, and board games. Choose from a selection of e-bikes and chariots suitable for most riders. All E-Bike hire includes helmets, and bookings are required via phone. Since the local rail trail opened in 2020, it has become the perfect opportunity for tourists and locals alike to explore this beautiful district. While hiring a bike, peruse the complete garden nursery offering a large selection of seedlings, plants and trees as well as garden art and ornaments, gardening accessories and great advice. Flowers are also a specialty of Tumba Bikes and Blooms, and delivery can be arranged for gorgeous floral arrangements within the local area.

Ride Tumba Bike Hire and Mt Tumbarumba Shuttle

Ride Tumba is located on the main street of Tumbarumba. They offer electric bikes for hire so that you can relax and enjoy beautiful scenic countryside and spectacular mountainsides with safe trails that the Tumbarumba to Rosewood Rail Trail offers. They also offer MTB Shuttles on Mt Tumbarumba, and hire both electric and standard dual suspension mountain bikes so that you can get the most out of your time on the mountain. Ride Tumba also offers bicycle and accessory sales, bicycle serving and repairs.

Tumbarumba to Rosewood Rail Trail

Officially opened in April 2020 the Tumbarumba to Rosewood Rail Trail is an absolute must-do when visiting the Snowy Valleys. A vibrant, revitalised trail for walking, cycling, pushing, strolling, peddling, rolling and relaxing. With the Trailheads at Figures Street Tumbarumba and at McEachern Lane in Rosewood, there are over 21 kilometres of sealed trail with gentle gradients and sweeping curves. Relax and enjoy beautiful scenic countryside and spectacular mountainsides with safe trails for the whole family to enjoy. For the more serious rider, challenge yourself to complete the whole distance and try some of the other cycling opportunities in the Snowy Valleys. Make sure you have time to enjoy Wolter Cottages, the beginning of the Rail Line, with two heritage-listed buildings from the 1870's including a historical display. The Rail Trail itself has many historical displays and features four restored bridges from the original Rail line which are of significant historical importance, being of timber trestle construction. These have been preserved in the reconstruction and refurbishment process. Mannus Creek Bridge is a seven-span tall bridge which also features an inbuilt curve, a masterpiece of bridge building. No horses or dogs are allowed on the trail.

Tumbarumba Pump Track

There's no better way to see a town or area than on a bike. It's even better when you can do it as a family. The area includes some great rides around town, rides to explore natural attractions and places to build your skills, like pump tracks and skate parks. Tumbarumba boasts a healthy network of walking and bike paths right across the town, including alongside the creek, around the sporting fields, to the showgrounds and the shops. Tumbarumba's Pump Track provides a great opportunity to develop kids' bike skills on a professionally designed track featuring rollers, jumps and sweeping turns. Since its opening the pump track has been a big hit with local and visiting kids alike. For the kids that love a bit of BMX action, the Tumbarumba skate park also often hosts local kids practising their jumps and tricks in the bowls on scooters or BMX bikes.

Mount Gladstone

The Mount Gladstone Lookout and Nature Reserve sits in 125 hectares of native bushland less than four kilometres from the edge of Cooma township and offers magnificent views across the Monaro Plains and to the peaks of the Snowy Mountains from the two easily accessible viewing platforms. The Mt Gladstone Nature Reserve is also a popular spot for walkers and mountain bike riding. Maps can be found at the Cooma Visitors Centre. There are toilets and barbecue facilities available along with car and coach parking.
