Beach Burrito Co. Jindabyne is the perfect place to satisfy your hunger after a massive day on the slopes! Situated upstairs in the Old Town Shopping centre, it's the perfect place to go with friends or family for drinks and dinner in a fun relaxed 70's rock and roll inspired Mexican joint. Walls are covered with pop art style photocopied art, vintage skis and custom art courtesy of Australia wide recognised artists. The black and gold checkered floor reminiscent of its glory disco days gone by, the venue regularly holds legendary Snow season parties that welcome all. They encourage small and large group bookings to avoid disappointment. They are open from the June Long weekend until late September. Summer they close for a long siesta. Friendly staff provide excellent food, house made cocktails, imported and craft beers and sensational levels of customer service. Kids Eat free is offered daily during Happy hour and is busy with families coming in for an early dinner with their little amigos and Taco Tuesday is plain crazy busy! Cherry Tree

Cherry Tree is a historical lifestyle property surrounded by many acres of farmland on the Snowy Monaro 20 minutes from Cooma. Driving from Cherry Tree along the country's scenic back roads via historical Dalgety on the Snowy River and Jindabyne at the foothills of the mountains it will take about one hour 15 minutes to reach the ski fields and Snowy Mountains National Park. Cherry Tree offers accommodation in two cottages. Cooks Cottage has two single beds (which can be combined to make a king double) and a sofa bed in the living room. The second is the stone cottage a large luxury studio-style getaway for two adults with a queen bed and a large travertine shower room with a heated floor. Both cottages have full kitchens and wood stoves and are furnished to a high standard. Both cottages have private outdoor seating areas and barbeque facilities to enjoy the scenery. For a small fee, guests can book the heated hot tub for their exclusive use. A highlight for guests is the opportunity to hand-feed alpacas and friendly Highland cows.

Snowy Valleys Sculpture Trail

The Snowy Valleys Sculpture Trail is a 150 kilometre permanent public collection of nearly 60 sculptures in 12 locations across the Snowy Valleys of southern New South Wales. Sculptures by artists from 14 countries can be discovered in the towns of Adelong, Batlow, Talbingo, Tumbarumba, Tumut, the hamlet of Tooma, the Tumbarumba wine region cellar doors at Courabyra Wines, Johansen Wines and Obsession Wines. The latest addition to the trail is three sites within the Bago State Forest including Laurel Hill and Pilot Hill. The Snowy Valleys Sculpture Trail has grown with thanks to grants from the Bushfire Local Economic Recovery Fund and the NSW Regional Tourism Activation Fund, together with support from our partners, sponsors and private donors.

Dalgety

The historic village of Dalgety sits on the banks of the Snowy River in New South Wales. Situated on the Monaro Plains and below the Snowy Mountains, Dalgety is an area of rolling hills with granite boulders scattered across the landscape. The Dalgety Bridge, built in 1888, is a grand structure that was an engineering feat in its day. Platypus are often seen in the river below it. Once considered as a site for the National Capital in 1904, Dalgety survived after the Snowy Mountains Scheme was built and the old towns of Jindabyne and Adaminaby were flooded. Enjoy the Historic Town and River Walk and view its heritage buildings and idyllic country setting.

Big Trout

The Big Trout is located 52 kilometres northwest of Cooma in Adaminaby. The town of Adaminaby is close to a popular trout fishing spot, which makes it an ideal location for the 10 metre tall Big Trout. This huge fibreglass structure was built by Adaminaby artist Andy Lomnici,. It was completed in 1973 and is an icon for the beautiful mountain town of Adaminaby. The Big Trout underwent a restoration project in 2024 by Sydney-based mural painter Ryan Loughnane. The iconic sculpture proudly takes her place alongside the 150 "Big Things" scattered throughout Australia.

Southern Cloud Memorial

The Southern Cloud Memorial is dedicated to the airliner, Southern Cloud, which was one of Australia's greatest air mysteries. On March 21, 1931, the three-engine aeroplane disappeared without a trace on a flight from Sydney to Melbourne. It was Australia's first big civil airline disaster. The mystery was solved 27 years later during the Snowy Mountains Hydro Scheme construction. On October 26, 1958, Tom Sonter, a carpenter, left his camp 15 miles from Happy Jacks and came upon pieces of rusted metal. The riddle of the Southern Cloud had been solved. The Southern Cloud lay on the southwest side of the densely timbered mountain ridge of the now Kosciuszko National Park. The Memorial is made of concrete wings 40 feet across that soar from the blunt apex of a triangle. A grill encloses the face of the memorial and the recovered engine parts of the Southern Cloud and other historic relics. Recorded information is available, telling the story of the Southern Cloud. It was erected by the Cooma Lions Club.

Tadeusz Kosciuszko Monument

The Tadeusz Kosciuszko Monument was a bicentennial gift from the Federal Council of Polish Associations in Australia to the town of Cooma. Located at the northern entrance to Cooma the monument commemorates the discovery and naming of Mount Kosciuszko, and the contribution of Polish settlers to the Snowy Mountains Scheme. There is an information turnout, and coach and car parking is available.

Nimmitabel Heritage Walk

Discover the rich history of the village of Nimmitabel by taking the Heritage Walk which explores the township and can be completed in an hour, or can be broken into shorter walks. The walk encompasses Geldmacher House - circa 1863, the Town Well, the Old Mill - circa 1872, the beautiful St Andrews Church, Cenotaph and many other interesting features and buildings that make up the history of this lovely little village. There are also some lovely little shops and cafes to pop into along the way. Information is available from the Cooma Visitors Centre (loc. on the corner of Centennial Park, Cooma, open 9am-3pm, 7 days a week) or the Nimmitabel Post Office.

Mosaic Time Walk

Located in the centre of Cooma in Centennial Park, the Cooma-Monaro Time Walk was a community project for the Bicentennial Year of 1988. Colour and Design students of Cooma TAFE College created designs based on historical information supplied by Cooma-Monaro Historical Society. Many businesses, community groups and individuals assisted in the project. The events represented in the mosaics include Monaro Aboriginals, the discovery of the Monaro by European settlers, the early squatters, law and order, Mount Kosciuszko, inns and accommodation, religion, health services, mining, business, transport, Nimmitabel, education, bushrangers, building, forestry, sheep, wool, cattle, snow sports, Dalgety-Berridale, mountain horses, Wragg's observatory, pastoral and agricultural pursuits, trout fishing, Adaminaby, Jindabyne, local government, the Snowy River March, mountain lifestyle, communications, Michelago/Bredbo, armed services, tourism, Kosciuszko National Park, the Snowy Mountains Scheme, pioneer women and other service organisations. More information can be found at the Cooma Visitors Centre at one end of the Mosaic Time Walk.
