BOOK NOWGot a little explorer at home? These holidays, they can become a Junior Ranger in Kosciuszko National Park! As part of the Junior Ranger program, friendly Discovery Rangers will guide kids through creative, hands-on adventures that bring the magic of the Snowy Mountains to life.
Specially designed for curious young minds, each Junior Ranger Program session gives kids the chance to step into a ranger’s boots, meeting wildlife, learning new skills and connecting with the stunning alpine landscape around Thredbo and Perisher.
And the best part? Every child becomes an official Junior Ranger, heading home with new knowledge, great stories and a lasting love for the natural world.

Kosciuszko Explorers uncovers the stories of the mountains from the plants and animals that survive in the alpine to the cultural significance of this special place. Kids walk gentle trails, explore high-country habitats and learn how everything in the ecosystem works together.
Mountain Pygmy Possum Guided Tour
Step into the secret world of one of Australia’s most endangered alpine animals. Kids will discover how mountain pygmy possums survive winter beneath the snow, what they eat, where they shelter and why they’re such an important part of the alpine environment. A perfect pick for wildlife enthusiasts.
Porcupine Rocks Guided Walk
This gentle, family-friendly hike rewards little legs with huge alpine views. Led by an expert ranger, families will wander through snowgum woodlands and granite outcrops while learning about local wildlife, geology and alpine plants.
