Lavender Week

Set on 60 acres in the village of Bibbenluke, Semperfields is home to over 2,000 lavender plants, a boutique apiary, and a small stud of White Dorper sheep. Visitors invited to explore the lavender, browse handmade, farm-grown products, and learn about lavender growing, harvesting, and production. A lavender distillation display will be held on site. Boxed lunches will be available on this day by pre-order only. Visitors may also see lambs in the paddock, with lambing expected during Lavender Week. Established in 2014, Semperfields is a sustainable working farm focused on caring for the land, livestock, and visitor experience.

The Bombala Art Prize is a major "en plein air" (outdoor) painting competition capturing the stunning autumn colours of Bombala's Riverside Park. The 2026 theme is "Colour in the Country". This regional art event features a significant $20,000 prize pool, with a unique "People's Choice" system where Award Dinner attendees will vote for the winners. Artist registrations and Award Dinner Tickets are now open. Registrations are limited.

Steampunk @ Altitude is an annual festival of all things Victoriana mixed with the age of technology and imagination. Think of Jules Verne novels to the HG Wells Time Machine to Tesla versus Edison, and even at a stretch, Harry Potter! Combine this with an overwhelming passion for fashion and you have a gala event where everyone dresses up and becomes another character larger than life! Set in the south-eastern village of Nimmitabel, which at 1,100 metres above sea level, echoes the era perfectly. Featured recently on the ABC TV "Backroads" program in all its splendour - a unique event not to be missed every first weekend of May.
