Tourism Snowy Mountains is the peak body for destination marketing and tourism business development in the Snowy Mountains region. The organisation is made up of representatives from major tourism business in the Snowy Mountains along with skills-based Directors who work together voluntarily to grow year-round visitation and build the tourism industry.
Expressions of interest are now being sought for 2 vacant Non-Executive Board Director (NED) positions on the board of TSM.
Each of these two positions is a skills-based position, and applications are welcomed from people with one or more of the following skill and experience areas:
- Knowledge of and commitment to the tourism industry
- Commercial Acumen
- Sponsorships and fundraising
- Economic development
- Legal
- Governance & Risk
- Audit & Financial
Applicants should be able to demonstrate strong leadership, relationship-building and partnership skills, and highlight their particular areas of expertise.
To complement the existing TSM Board’s skillset, candidates with accounting and/or financial management skills will be viewed favourably as will previous experience on Boards and as a Chair.
Each of these NED roles is voluntary, and meetings are held in the Snowy Mountains region approximately 8 times per year (with sub-committees meeting separately, as required).
Directors are expected to:
- Attend in person (targeting at least 75% of the meetings) and actively participate in board meetings
- Stay informed about industry matters
- Serve on one or more specific sub-committees as required
- Build collegial working relationships with other Directors and contribute to robust discussions and decision making
- Utilise their own skills, experience, knowledge and networks to support the ongoing success of TSM.
Each position is for an initial two-year appointment (and directors may stand for re-election thereafter).
